This site is for the Forest Hills Webmasters to share what we learn about using the SchoolPointe Content Management Software.

As I learn how to create pages in the CMS, I'll post directions here. I hope you'll do the same. If you discover an easier or more efficient way of doing something, please update the page. And if there are any steps missing, please add them! When we're finished, hopefully we'll have a usable "how-to" manual for ourselves and future Forest Hills web contributors.

If you have any questions or suggestions, add a comment to the discussion tab, above.

Some notes before beginning

You will be logged off the Content Management System (CMS) if you are inactive for 20 minutes. ("Inactive" means you haven't been saving, even if you've been typing information.) So SAVE OFTEN.

Internet Explorer is the preferred browser for WIN; Firefox, for MAC. In fact, I found that if I tried to use Firefox on WIN, I was unable to create hyperlinks in the Content Pages.

Here's what I know so far:

CMS Login
Adding Images to Content Pages
Additional Information (the navigation button)
Building Details
Building Events

Trivia:

"Wiki Wiki is a reduplication of wiki, a Hawaiian-language word for fast. The word wiki is a shorter form of wiki wiki (IPA /wiːkiː wiːkiː/). The word is sometimes interpreted as the backronym for what I know is, which describes the knowledge contribution, storage, and the exchange function."
